PBXCompare.com Now Compares Business VoIP and Traditional PBX

By Divya Narain, TMCnet Contributor

Zilker Ventures has added a new page to PBXCompare.com, which compares business VoIP and traditional PBX (News - Alert) on price points, features and overall functionality.
PBXCompare.com is a Web site that compares and reviews hosted phone systems. TMCnet recently reported that Zilker Ventures has expanded and enhanced PBXCompare.com
Business VoIP bundles up VoIP lines and virtual PBX to offer call management and other features of a traditional phone system, at low price. PBXCompare.com features a whitepaper that enumerates the difference in cost of equipment, setup and maintenance and ongoing service fees between the two types of phone systems.
The Web site has compared a Nortel (News - Alert) BCM-50 traditional business phone system with RingCentral Office.
The start-up fee for the Nortel BCM-50 system comes out to be $4,500, and for the RingCentral (News - Alert) Office system it is $320. The expenses that push up the cost of traditional phone systems include voicemail licenses ($120 each), basic phones ($250 each), and installation fees ($110/hr). A business VoIP system does away with the installation fee.
"One of the coolest things about business VoIP is the fact that you don't have to install anything," says PBXCompare.com affiliate manager Nick Middleton. "Your business VoIP provider will send you your desk phones, which have been completely programmed and personalized for each person in your office, and all you have to do is plug them in and start using them."
"You have to buy a lot of equipment to set up a traditional phone system and traditional phone systems are not configured for the average person, so professional installation is required. A business VoIP system eliminates the need to purchase a 'phone box' by hosting the call management online. In addition, the phones cost about one-third of what phones cost for traditional phone systems and you don't have to buy licenses for basic features like voicemail," concurs PBXCompare.com creator Gaines Kilpatrick.
Start-ups, especially those without a physical office or with mobile employees, are quite price-sensitive while choosing business VoIP systems. The comparison offered by PBXCompare.com can prove to be a valuable resource while making the buying decision.
PBXCompare.com also offers scores of reviews of virtual pbx services from providers like Phone.com (News - Alert), My1Voice, GotVmail, Phone People, PowrFone, Virtual PBX, Hallo and others, as well as services that offer toll free numbers.
