Vringo Finds a New Mobile Carrier Partner in Turkey, Expands Subscriber Base

Video ringtone pioneer Vringo has announced that it has partnered with mobile content provider Retromedya to expand Vringo's (News - Alert) billing coverage in the Turkish mobile market.

Following the termination of its agreement with former Turkish partner Avea, Vringo’s new alliance with Retromedya will allow it to reach an additional 52 million mobile subscribers in addition to Avea's 12 million mobile subscribers. This way Vringo will be reaching out to almost the entire mobile subscriber base in Turkey offering its award winning services including a mobile application, WAP platform and its video ringtone library.

Avea’s customers will continue to enjoy Vringo’s service under the Vringo brand name and not under the Avea brand name. According to a TMCnet report, last year Vringo and Avea jointly won the Global Telecoms Business Wireless network infrastructure innovation award.
