SmrtGuard Launches Anti-virus, Anti-spam for BlackBerry Smartphones

SmrtGuard is a global smartphone security company for businesses and consumers. Recently, SmrtGuard declared that it has deployed Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam protection to its SmrtGuard services for BlackBerry (News - Alert) devices. These new anti-virus and anti-spam features will be an added advantage for SmrtGuard's full suite of mobile security services which includes wireless data backup and restore, remote location tracking, remote data wipe and personal security features.

Robert Kao, the founder and CEO of SmrtGuard, said, "Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive mobile security solutions for businesses and individuals, while making it as easy to manage as possible. Anti-virus and anti-spam protection was the next logical step for SmrtGuard as smartphones, like PCs, have increasingly become an essential part of our business and personal lives."

Now, customers can get these new anti-virus and anti-spam features from the SmrtGuard Pro premium security service. SmrtGuard Pro includes the data and device protection features such as wireless data backup and restoration, remote data wipe, remote tracking, loved one tracking, personal guardian, SIM card guardian, anti-virus protection, and anti-spam and call blocker facility.

During data backup, SmrtGuard Pro automatically backup contacts, memo, To-Dos, call history, emails, calendar, and SMS. Also, it can remotely remove all data such as contents of the microSD card and internal device. It guards smartphones and data against the latest viruses and malware, with automatic virus scans and auto updates having latest virus definitions. With easy to create blacklists, it helps to remove the email spam automatically and restrict unwanted calls. In addition, it can remotely find the lost or stolen device on a map and track the location of it.

SmrtGuard has already rolled out the anti-virus and anti-spam features in its i-Guard mobile security suite which is developed especially for Indosat (News - Alert). Indosat is the only carrier in Indonesia that guards BlackBerry devices and services.

Guntur Siboro, the chief marketing officer of Indosat, said, "We're extremely excited to be able to offer our BlackBerry users these additional protection services. Virus and malware threats to smartphones are becoming increasingly prevalent and SmrtGuard's innovation allows us to be on the cutting edge of mobile security."

Currently, SmrtGuard is offered for BlackBerry and Android (News - Alert) smartphones and is launching soon for the Symbian platform.
