TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. Awarded New U.S. Patent

TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. "TCS," an Annapolis, Md.-based provider of secure mobile communication technology, announced that it has been awarded a United States Patent No. 7,693,981 entitled, "System and Method to Publish Information from Servers to Remote Monitor Devices."

The patent explains a method on how to publish information from servers to remote devices. The invention facilitates a remote client to connect to a physical Web server and then compile lists of available physical components in a communications system, such as servers, protocol gateways and message routers.

With the help of this invention users can subsequently request information from the Web server, such as log data and status, on all available components. The information can be viewed on any device that supports a browser, and if the information is provided to the remote monitor device as an XML page, a standard XML parser may be used to extract particular information from the XML page.

The company said that this patent is very useful for service and support personnel in the field who require quick access to status information, in order to make decisions on re-provisioning and repair. In addition, this system and method will ease management of enterprise level communication networks that generally utilize a mobile support workforce.

"The ability to present log and status information in a standard format to remote users significantly enhances the functionality of any enterprise or government IT infrastructure," said Drew Morin (News - Alert), chief technology officer of TCS. "As today's workforce continues to go mobile or remote, this invention simplifies getting that information to workers both when and where they need it by providing status information in a secure, browser friendly, device-independent manner."

Company officials said that the company now holds 111 patents with more than 300 applications pending.

TCS offers solutions in E9-1-1, text messaging, commercial location and deployable wireless communications. It offers wireless applications for navigation, hyper-local search, asset tracking, social applications and tele-matics.

In addition, TCS also offers cyber security expertise, professional services, and highly secure deployable satellite solutions for mission-critical communications to Federal government agencies.
