Flycell Soars Even While The Economy Slumps

If the financial status and revenues earned during the year 2009 are anything to go by, then the economic downturn does not seem to have had any real impact on Flycell Inc.

This  mobile and online entertainment content company, which has weathered the economic storm has announcedthe quarterly and annual financial results.

It has cited 2009 as the most successful year in the company's history, nearly doubling its annual revenue over 2008, and growing fourth-quarter revenue by an impressive 153 percent over the same quarter in 2008.

Flycell has consistently reported double digit growth throughout the year 2009 in all the countries where it is currently operating.

"Having learned from our experience in bringing popular entertainment services tailored for specific geographies, Flycell continues to grow our business in multiple directions," Flycell CEO Alberto Montesi, said.

Montesi was confident of Flycell's ability to replicate its services even in the new markets, while still providing digital content that was locally relevant. The addition of new markets was directly proportional to its ability to increase the catalog of content and services that was already being provided.

Attributing Flycell's market and content growth to the growth of subscriber base in each market, Montesi was positive about Flycell's plans for the future, which included bringing more innovative entertainment services that subscribers could use both online and on their mobile phones.

Flycell's parent company, Acotel Group reported Flycell took in over $43 million in revenue in Q4 2009, as compared to $17 million earned in Q4 2008. Last quarter, Flycell also reported $43 million in revenue, giving the company revenue of $146 million for the 2009 fiscal year.

By comparison, Flycell reported 75 million in revenue for the 2008 fiscal year. Flycell finished 2009 with revenue in excess of 95 percent greater than 2008. The fiscal year is the same as the calendar year for Flycell.

In its 2009 annual report, Flycell's parent company, Acotel, stated that "within the services segment  the largest portion of revenues  was generated by the B2C services provided by the US subsidiary, Flycell Inc."

Even in the face of a global economic recession, Flycell seems to have exhibited strong quarterly growth  throughout the year 2009. This is ample evidence to prove that the popularity of the digital entertainment sector has not declined.

The year 2009 was apparently a very busy one for Flycell. Not only did it open new international markets, including Mexico and Argentina, but it also launched new services, including some popular games. It also expanded its presence in Web-based entertainment by creating a separate portal for online and casual games. This portal was launched recently.

MobileVillage awarded Flycell, Inc., CEO Alberto Montesi top honors with the Superstar award in the Visionary: Consumer Software and Services category and the mobile and online media and entertainment destination, was named Superstar in the Consumer App: Entertainment or Media Services category.

Flycell, Inc., lets people from all walks of life personalize their phones with the mobile content that reflects their own unique tastes in entertainment, sports, games and more. The company partners with media companies and mobile network operators globally that utilize Flycell's cutting-edge multimedia applications and services.

In a related news release, Flycellannounced availability of a new edition of its portal created especially for the Argentinean market. Argentina is the ninth country to gain its own version of the award-winning mobile content service.
