MedLink EHR Available Soon as a Software as a Service

By Jyothi Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

MedLink International, Inc., a healthcare IT company that provides the medical community with products and services designed to help create, manage and share medical information, has announced that it will be providing the option of its MedLink TotalOffice EHR as a Software-as-a-Service starting next month.

Company officials said the new SaaS (News - Alert) model will offer providers an affordable EHR framework to meet federal and state incentives for EHR adoption by reducing upfront hardware costs.

The company's flagship product, MedLink TotalOffice EHR, a CCHIT Certified 08 Ambulatory EHR, provides physicians with full EHR and practice management functionality.

It integrates scheduling, patient registration, billing, document management, messaging, encounter notes, e-Prescribing and e-Labs into one practice management solution. It contains all patients’ demographic information, including notes, appointments, lab results, history of visits, as well as all insurance and financial information.

“We've seen a tremendous increase in interest in the MedLink EHR through some of the state and federal initiatives MedLink is involved in, that provide subsidies for the implementation and software costs associated with the purchase of an HER,” Ray Vuono, CEO of MedLink, said in a statement.

Vuono said that the SaaS model allows for practices to reduce the upfront investment in hardware and scale that investment into additional training and other services which ultimately will provide for a quicker ROI for the practice.

The company recently entered into an affiliation agreement with Clinical Laboratory Management, Inc., a regional ancillary provider with operations in 5 states -- New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.

In an effort to increase efficiencies and patient care for their referring providers, CLM will educate physicians on the benefits of the MedLink TotalOffice EHR, a CCHIT Certified 08 Ambulatory EHR.

MedLink International delivers enhanced medical services for healthcare professionals worldwide through a suite of network, communication, management, financial and value-added solutions utilizing MedLink Total Office and the MedLink VPN.

BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry MVS) BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry MVS) converges office desk phones and BlackBerry® smartphones, allowing users to access standard enterprise voice features whether at their desks or on the go*. BlackBerry MVS encompasses BlackBerry® MVS Client software for BlackBerry smartphones, BlackBerry MVS Services of BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, and the Ascendent Voice Mobility Suite.

With BlackBerry MVS, BlackBerry smartphone users can access enterprise desk phone options directly from the menu interface of the BlackBerry phone application, while at the same time securely authenticating to the organization’s enterprise telephony system (PBX). BlackBerry MVS also gives IT administrators the control to set voice policies on the BlackBerry smartphone, so that inbound and outbound calls use the enterprise line. This allows for all mobile calls to be logged or recorded for compliance with regulatory or corporate standards.
