American Airlines And BlackBerry Announce Free Your Memory Contest



A new promotion was recently launched by American Airlines to familiarize travelers with the latest AA.com Notification Center. The promotion has been dubbed “Free Your Memory” and will be run in association with BlackBerry (News - Alert).
 
The latest promotion will run up to Jan. 5, 2010. The Free Your Memory campaign has a sweepstakes incorporated which will give participants the opportunity of obtaining one of 60 BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphones. One of the 60 phones slated to be given away will have 300,000 AAdvantage miles bundled along with it. The sweepstakes has been devised as an interactive memory game. Virtually anyone can log on to the American Airlines’ website and register their names at the designated web page in order to participate in the contest.
 
American Airlines launched their latest AA.com Notification Center in 2009, which can be accessed via every client’s “My Account” portal on the original American Airlines website.
 
Using the My Account feature, travelers can greatly reduce the complexity associated with booking travel tickets and planning their itinerary with American Airlines. The Notification Center helps travelers to also decide what kind of flight status notifications they want to receive. This process is a one-time setting and the system processes all requests accordingly.
 
Travelers will receive automated flight status notifications based on their preset preferences, so long as they have mentioned their AAdvantage number while making their travel bookings. Additionally, travelers can also mention in their profile settings on the My Account page on how they would prefer American Airlines to get in touch with them-via phone, email or text message.
 
The AA.com Notification Center allows clients to save upto 10 contact numbers in their profile, simplifying the task of notification. The requisite flight details will be provided to travelers and whomsoever they require to be notified using the mode preferred by them.
 
Derek DeCross, American Airlines’ Managing Director-Interactive Marketing, said that the latest AA.com Notification Center is perfect for those with busy lives. “We all have so much to do these days - so many places to be and things to remember,” he said. “With the AA.com Notification Center, we're making travel a little easier for customers by giving them one less item to think about.”
 
“The sweepstakes is a great way to demonstrate how the AA.com Notification Center can make the travel experience more convenient, and we're excited to offer everyone a chance to win some fantastic prizes,” DeCross said.
 
By registering at the American Airlines website and playing the interactive memory game, clients can get for themselves one entry ticket to the ‘Free Your Memory’ sweepstakes. In order to receive additional opportunities to participate in the sweepstakes, registered users can refer their friends or update their profiles on the website. A maximum of three sweepstakes entries are allowed per person. American Airlines has not stipulated a minimum purchase requirement to participate in the sweepstakes.
