AppTrigger Intros Ignite Service Broker v. 11 for Providing Voice Services over LTE Networks

AppTrigger, Inc., a provider of service broker solutions announced the launch of the Ignite Service Broker v.11.0. The new release of the Ignite Service Broker provides TDM Voice Services over long-term evolution mobile broadband networks, which reduces the disadvantages associated with IMS and LTE (News - Alert) development.

Telecom operators are off the opinion that LTE does not support very critical and profitable circuit-switch applications like voice and SMS. For deploying voice services over LTE networks, carriers have to adopt IMS for voice rapidly or employ resource-intensive solutions like voice over LTE via Generic Access architecture. Otherwise they have to deploy a separate 2G/3G network for voice and 4G network for data services.

“The promise of advanced data services that LTE brings carriers comes with deployment challenges,” said Patrick Fitzgerald (News - Alert), senior vice president of global sales and marketing at AppTrigger.

“AppTrigger’s Ignite Service Broker connects critical revenue-generating legacy applications such as TDM voice or SMS to any NGN architecture, including IMS and LTE, providing operators with tremendous CapEx and OpEx savings and without reinventing the wheel yet again,” added Fitzgerald.

Service brokers are network elements which reside between the service layer and the converging network and are traditionally decoupled from the core switch and the service execution or service creation environment. These brokers manage service interaction and network orchestration exhibiting features like IM-SSF, SCIM, IN to IN trigger management, protocol/call flow management and subscriber data management interaction.
The Ignite Service Broker v.11 offers several benefits to users as it enables service providers to extend current, revenue generating applications and services to LTE subscribers irrespective of access architecture. The presence of pre-packaged interworking functionality reduces time to market for revenue intensive applications and services, said company sources.

An XML based toolkit in the new version allows self-sufficient service providers to extend functionality according to requirement thereby ensuring evolution of platforms with service provider networks. Carriers will be able to preserve their investments on legacy applications also by running them on next-generation networks like LTE with AppTrigger’s Ignite service broker.

Service providers can now test-drive the technology and business case benefits of the Ignite Service Broker. The AppTrigger’s three-step integrated Ignite Your Network program includes onsite demo, lab trial for 60 days and ROI analysis of application migration plans, revealed AppTrigger sources.
