Networks In Motion Takes Gokivo for BlackBerry to International Markets

Networks In Motion (News - Alert) has stated that they are extending the coverage services for BlackBerry devices. The Gokivo navigation maps now cover Canada and Western Europe, which combined with existing U.S. coverage, will have Gokivo cover the entire Northern America.

Networks In Motion is a wireless navigation and hyper-local search company, powering some of the most innovative location based mobile products in the marketplace.

The company made Gokivo navigation software, a reliable, fast and incredibly easy to use solution that makes it easy to find anything from ATMs and restaurants to people and events. Based on integrated premium real-time content, Gokivo Navigator transforms users’ mobile phone into a superior navigation device.

Networks In Motion claim that the extension of the coverage area is another milepost in the transformation of turn-by-turn navigation to mobile devices and away from PND standalone products.

Owners of the BlackBerry (News - Alert) Bold, and BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphones, can now download Gokivo directly to their handsets from BlackBerry App World. The company has also announced "Summer Nav Sale" through the end of July that will allow BlackBerry smartphone users to try the application for free for 30 days, which ends Labor Day weekend.

Gokivo on BlackBerry offers turn-by-turn visual and audible directions that make it easier to get where users need to go in the US and Canada or UK and parts of Western Europe. For tourist cities it enables enjoyable pedestrian navigation with unique pedestrian routes. Users can get instant access to local movies, events, traffic and weather conditions and also ways to nearby restaurants, fuel stations, ATMs, hotels, hospitals ad theaters.

Doug Antone, CEO of Networks In Motion has stated that as mobile devices multiply and grow powerful, the handset is becoming the platform that will drive almost all the future growth in turn-by-turn navigation and the company intends to lead that transition and increasing the smartphone footprint for Gokivo. Consumers want navigation in the palm of their hands at all times and they want real-time data that can help them discover everything that's around them by simply clicking on their phone.

Networks In Motion recently had launched Gokivo navigation application on Apple (News - Alert) app store and Poynt local search application was unveiled for BlackBerry smartphones in the United Kingdom.
