Brandon Police Service Selects MTS Allstream to Supply FleetNet 800 Mobile and Portable Radios

MTS Allstream Inc. has been selected to supply FleetNet 800 mobile and portable radios to the Brandon Police Service (BPS).
 
BPS dispatch radio equipment operates on MTS (News - Alert) Allstream's FleetNet network to provide secure, province-wide, voice communications between BPS members and most public safety organizations in Manitoba.

 
"MTS Allstream (News - Alert) is proud to provide the members of the Brandon Police Service with a reliable wireless dispatch service that provides maximum responsiveness," said Dean Prevost, president enterprise solutions, MTS Allstream, in a statement.
 
Prevostsaid that he knows the Brandon Police Service is deeply committed to serving the citizens of Brandon.
 
He said that the company’s customized mobile radio services and extensive coverage in Manitoba means the members of the force can maintain comprehensive awareness of any situation to help ensure the utmost safety to all residents in Brandon.
 
MTS Allstream officials claimed that FleetNet is one of the largest geographical trunked radio networks in the world and is designed to the highest public safety standards. The City of Brandon has been using secure voice dispatch services over the company's FleetNet network since 1997.
 
Over 300 City of Brandon radios use the FleetNet network.

TMCnet recently reported that MTS Allstream has selected NetIQ to manage their customers' Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) applications and infrastructure.
 
MTS Allstream manages communications infrastructure for enterprise customers across the country it tapped NetIQ (News - Alert) to help them develop an innovative, value-added offering to manage their UC solutions.
 
According to NetIQ officials, MTS Allstream first leveraged NetIQ Vivinet Assessor to effectively predict the overall expected call quality on customer networks. Now utilizing NetIQ AppManager, MTS Allstream can holistically manage customers' UC deployments, including application servers and network devices.
 
Officials said that as a result, MTS Allstream delivers compelling customer value by preventing end-user downtime and proactively enhancing service levels 24x7x365.
