The announcement came following an independently verified evaluation of quality from the AT&T devCentral program. With this, the software security solution is now recognized as a certified security optimization and VPN solution.
Columbitech Wireless VPN is said to have been built on standard security protocols and is said to offer high level of security with multi-factor authentication and strong encryption. This software-based solution is optimized for mobile devices and wireless networks and provides secure, persistent remote access to systems behind the corporate firewall from laptops, smartphones and other mobile devices.
“AT&T’s validation of our mobile VPN further demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with the highest quality of enterprise mobility solutions,” said Asa Holmstrom, president of Columbitech.
“It is important that our customers embrace the power of wireless, and our mobile VPN enables them to do so through a combination of productivity and strong security. We look forward to expanding our ongoing business efforts with AT&T customers to help enterprises realize the benefits of true mobility.”
The AT&T Enterprise Solution Program enables potential customers with assurance of quality and reliability across AT&T networks and devices. Columbitech complements this focus by providing wireless security for all Windows Mobile devices and laptops using Windows XP or Vista.
The certification process involves stringent testing to confirm the solution’s performance, user interface, data integrity, application security and wireless data transmission efficiency all meet or exceed AT&T usability guidelines.
As the only FIPS 140-2 certified intelligent mobile VPN, Columbitech meets AT&T’s need for both mobility and security in one, comprehensive solution, said the company official.
The Columbitech Mobile VPN supports broadband and wireless networks and devices, including 2G (CDMA, iDEN, GSM), 2.5G (EDGE and CDMA2000 1x-RTT), 3G (EV-DO, UMTS, HSPA), and future 4G-capable networks.
The solution is available for hyper mobile users in any enterprise environment and is reportedly deployed in a number of industries, including public safety, government, banking, retail, transport/logistics and insurance.
