Vopium's Mobile VoIP Application Now Available for BlackBerry

Following its launch of a new version of its mobile VoIP application for the iPhone, Vopium (News - Alert) announced recently that its free mobile VoIP application also now runs on BlackBerry and is now available on BlackBerry App World.

 

Vopium's mobile VoIP software works on 3G, GSM, WiFi (News - Alert) and GPRS networks, so it doesn't limit users to just using WiFi hotspots. The software automatically re-routes calls via the cheapest available route, ensuring that customers are always able to save money when calling international numbers. Once downloaded, the Vopium application for BlackBerry (News - Alert) seamlessly integrates with the BlackBerry’s address book.

Currently Vopium -- a relatively new player in the world of mobile VoIP -- is offering all new users 30 minutes of free calls and 30 text messages (SMS). Vopium is now compatible with more than 500 devices across all operating systems including Windows Mobile, Symbian (News - Alert) and Java.

Vopium claims its software can save users up to 90 percent on their international and long distance calling.

"Vopium on BlackBerry App World will enable the millions of BlackBerry users to significantly cut their international call costs whether these are for business or pleasure," said Vopium CEO Tanveer Sharif in a release.

Luxembourg-based Vopium announced in February that it had expanded its carrier-grade mobile telephony service across Europe and Australia.
