By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor
Boost Mobile, a wholly owned division of Sprint Nextel, has announced a new ‘Monthly Unlimited’ package for students to provide them with services such as talk, text, wireless Web and walkie-talkie for only $50 a month.
Operating on Nextel National Network, Boost Mobile provides customers with a nationwide service coverage that is not bound to a local calling area.
The new announcement comes as a follow-up of the company’s earlier announcementnationwide calling and other services for $50 a month. in which it offered a flat-rate prepaid service with unlimited
The new plan will help students manage their funds, especially in the current economic scenario, when many of them are finding it difficult to manage tuition costs.
The ‘Monthly Unlimited’ package service will especially suit out-of-state students because it offers nationwide service reaching more than 274 million people in more than 15,800 cities across the U.S., without any roaming, traveling or long distance fees. This will enable them to communicate with family and friends located anywhere in the U.S.
“As economic woes continue and the cost of tuition rises, students are managing their expenses now more than ever,” said Neil Lindsay, chief marketing officer for Boost Mobile.
“Our new Boost Mobile Monthly Unlimited plan is ideal for those who want mobile phone service with straightforward pricing and predictable payments, but not the financial sting from monthly service bills, overage charges, activation fees, additional Telecom Taxes and extra costs for services like voicemail and roaming.”
Another important feature of the service is the flexible payment options. Boost Mobile gives customers the option to pay for their wireless service per minute, per day or per month.
Boost Mobile claims that with the new $50 'Monthly Unlimited' Plan, customers can save around $695 each year as compared to T-Mobile’s $99.99 per Month Prepaid Unlimited plan.
Also, they can save up to $42 per year in comparison with Cricket's $45 per month unlimited regional talk, text and Web offering and up to $144 per year when compared to MetroPCS's $45 per month unlimited nationwide talk, text and Web offering.
