Alltel Wireless Intros Interactive Content Delivery Service

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Alltel Wireless, owner and operator of the wireless network, reportedly has launched an interactive content delivery service called “Alltel (News - Alert) Perks.”

With the launch the service, Alltel customers can receive customized content including sports scores, weather, discounts, trivia and more directly on their phone.

The Alltel Perks application can be downloaded for free from the Alltel Shop.

Once downloaded and registered, the service proactively delivers offers and content to subscribers when their phone is not in use.

“The launch of Alltel Perks represents an innovative way for our customers to receive offers and information that is of interest, while providing marketers a powerful vehicle for reaching potential customers wherever they may be,” said Jeff Giard, Alltel’s vice president of product development and mobile advertising. “As handsets continue to evolve into entertainment, media and content delivery devices, Alltel continues to provide our customers with the most useful services and applications, such as Alltel Perks.”

Powered by Mobile Posse, Inc., Alltel Perks service is fully customizable based on consumer preference and feedback.

The application delivers content based on the customers’ ZIP code, age and gender, in addition to providing information and offers related to specific times of day and days of the week.

“We are thrilled to be working with Alltel as they make this innovative service available to their customers,” said Jon Jackson, chief executive officer of Mobile Posse.

Mobile Posse, Inc. provides an idle screen delivery solution for mobile content and advertising. The company allows marketers to radically enhance their reach and conversion rates in a convenient and cost-effective manner while strengthening relationships with consumers and carriers.

Officials at Mobile Posse say theirs is the first company to commercially rollout the delivery of graphically rich and interactive permission-based content and advertising messages to the idle-screens of mobile phones in partnership with a U.S. carrier.

Jackson claimed that the company’s solution delivers graphically rich and interactive content to a broad audience that may not otherwise use data services, thereby enhancing their overall wireless experience.

BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry MVS) BlackBerry® Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry MVS) converges office desk phones and BlackBerry® smartphones, allowing users to access standard enterprise voice features whether at their desks or on the go*. BlackBerry MVS encompasses BlackBerry® MVS Client software for BlackBerry smartphones, BlackBerry MVS Services of BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, and the Ascendent Voice Mobility Suite.

With BlackBerry MVS, BlackBerry smartphone users can access enterprise desk phone options directly from the menu interface of the BlackBerry phone application, while at the same time securely authenticating to the organization’s enterprise telephony system (PBX). BlackBerry MVS also gives IT administrators the control to set voice policies on the BlackBerry smartphone, so that inbound and outbound calls use the enterprise line. This allows for all mobile calls to be logged or recorded for compliance with regulatory or corporate standards.
