Telestial's Pre-Paid Services Give Control

Telestial, an online travel communications retailer, relieves mobile users from the fear of surprise bills at the end of month. Telestial has introduced new prepaid data service plans that would give users total control over their mobile data and online activity from a wireless device.

Telestial’s prepaid data service plans are designed for the budget minded people who prefer to buy service tailored for their usage patterns or specific needs, the company said. The service enables users to perform online tasks as using a Web browser, sending a text message, or forwarding a photo over email with no contracts, no monthly usage requirements, and no monthly service fees.

The data services are available as part of a package with the purchase of either a Passport Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card, Passport Lite SIM card, and/or Passport Plus SIM card. The plan is currently available in 71 countries, and the price varies for each.

Passport SIM card is an innovative service by which a traveler can record his/her travel experience on a Google (News - Alert) map and a journal on private Web page with details such as images of locations visited, local weather and a record of recent communications. This travel journal can be updated or personalized at any time.

Telestia plans to introduce prepaid third-generation (3G) data services with faster upload/download speeds and enhanced services than those of the traditional wireless networks. The service will be available in 2009 in 10 countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Puerto Rico, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Ken Grunski, president, Telestial, said, "Our customers can use their wireless phones to surf the Internet, download photos, watch videos, and use email without experiencing the 'sticker shock' from their bill that is all too common with our competitors' data services."

The pre-paid data service gives customers advance control on how much money they'll spend on data services and help them avoid any unpleasant surprises when they return from their travels, Grunski added.

Telestial offers a number of products and services related to telecommunications. They include pre-paid phone calls and text messages, Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) telephone rentals, and satellite phones for global use.
