TeleNav Intros New Version of Mobile Enterprise GPS Service

The latest version of TeleNav Track, a GPS-enabled mobile resource management (MRM) service, enables companies to control labor costs by providing real-time information for managing field operations and remote communications.

 

New capabilities built into the service — such as team timecard, overtime controls, signature and image capture, and hot key alert — help managers improve worker time and attendance compliance, limit unnecessary overtime costs, boost employee satisfaction, and increase overall efficiency by electronically managing the work and break time of their teams, clocking individuals or entire teams in and out directly from a supervisor's BlackBerry (News - Alert) smartphone or other mobile device.

 

TeleNav, a privately-held company headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, claims it was the was the first provider to launch a cell phone GPS system in the U.S. TeleNav's solutions include GPS navigation, Mobile Resource Management (MRM), social networking and local search. TeleNav's enterprise application, TeleNav Track, incorporates GPS-enabled tracking, time sheets, wireless forms and navigation. TeleNav Track is a widely adopted service with over 9,000 customer organizations using it today.

 

Additional enhancements to TeleNav Track include the new “Hot Key Alert” feature, which boosts employee satisfaction by empowering them to quickly and discreetly send location notification via e-mail and SMS by entering a predefined keystroke combination on their wireless devices.

In conjunction with the latest version of TeleNav Track, TeleNav also introduced TeleNav Enterprise Server (TES), which enables customers an easy and flexible method for integrating TeleNav Track with third-party applications such as customer relationship management (CRM), payroll, accounting and dispatch systems. TES automates the flow of data between TeleNav Track and these third-party applications and eliminates the need for duplicate data entry.

 

Industry analyst firm ABI Research predicted that enterprise GPS applications like TeleNav Track will generate more revenue than mobile consumer GPS services as companies increasingly deploy enterprise solutions over the next five years.

 

Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert) recently recognized TeleNav Track with its 2008 North American Mobility Award for Best MRM Solution on a Handheld Device. The new version of TeleNav Track (v. 4.1) is available immediately on select AT&T (News - Alert) and Sprint phones.
