Socket Mobile, Inc., a provider of portable computing and data collection hardware, has recently introduced a new handheld device, the SoMo 655.
The newly announced SoMo 655 enables mobile professionals to collect, document and access mission-critical business data in a wide range of applications. It features improved charging and durability, 4 GB memory and enterprise-level 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi wireless technology that provides roaming and constant connectivity.
Large touch screen for easy data entry, MicroSD and CompactFlash expansion slots to support peripherals specific to your business and programmable side and face buttons and navigation keys for business-specific functions, are some of the other benefits that SoMo 655 offer.
In a press release, Vince Coli, senior handheld computer product manager at Socket Mobile, said, "The new SoMo 655 not only provides enhanced features, but also helps enterprises maximize ROI with a long expected life of three to five years and professional service and support options."
Expanding upon Socket Mobile's award-winning SoMo 650 line of handheld devices, the SoMo 655 successfully caters to the needs of healthcare institutions, restaurants and other end users.

Officials said that the customers of SoMo 650 using Windows Mobile 6, can transition to the new SoMo 655 running Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5, which is based on the Windows Mobile 6.5 platform.
