Vonage Intros New Mobile App with Free Calling and Texting
February 10, 2012

Vonage (News - Alert), provider of communications services connecting individuals through mobile and broadband devices worldwide, has introduced Vonage Mobile, the new iPhone (News - Alert) and Android app, enabling users to make free high-definition calls and send free texts to all users of the app, worldwide.

This new app can be used over Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G wireless data networks and works for non-Vonage customers too. However, as an added benefit to all app users, calls to Vonage home or business lines are free.

The company is also offering free calls to any phone in the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico from anywhere in the world for a limited time. This is only for personal, non-commercial calling and excludes calls to certain geographic locations, premium and special services numbers, satellite telephony services and other call forwarding services and should not exceed 3000 minutes per month, said company officials.

Vonage Mobile consolidates the best features of our prior applications, while adding important functionality, better value and improved ease of use,” said Marc Lefar (News - Alert), CEO of Vonage. “It combines the best of free high-def voice and messaging along with incredible value for traditional international calls, all while using the existing mobile number and address book for unsurpassed ease of use.”

Interested parties can make use of this new feature by downloading to any iPhone or Android (News - Alert) device for free; and it also works on the iPad, iPod touch and Android tablets.

In addition, users can instantly add calling credits directly from the app through iTunes or Android Market in increments of $4.99 and $9.99.

In other news, Vonage Holdings Corp. recently announced that it will report its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31,2011 on Wednesday, February 15, 2012.
