Ryder Unveils New Ryder Locator Application
February 10, 2012

Ryder System, Inc., a company offering transportation and supply chain management solutions, has unveiled its much awaited new app called Ryder Locator.

Currently offered for free, this new smartphone application enables customers to easily and quickly find their nearest Ryder truck rental, maintenance, or fueling location in the U.S. and Canada.

Users can quickly search the nearby Ryder facilities and find out about specific services offered at each location with the new Ryder easy-to-use mobile locator app. It is also useful for commercial customers when they are in need to rent a truck, service a vehicle, refuel, or connect with roadside assistance.

“Ryder has a long history of introducing new technology to help customers run their fleets more efficiently,” said John Gleason, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for Ryder Fleet Management Solutions. “The new Ryder Locator app helps to meet our customers' expectations for information at their fingertips, while facilitating productivity with instant and easy access to Ryder location and service information.”

In addition, the new Ryder Locator app helps users to filter their searches by location (city, state, and/ or zip code) or service offering (rental, maintenance, or fuel). Later on the fleet managers can find turn-by-turn directions via a user-friendly map, or use convenient one-touch calling to talk to an on-duty Ryder employee.

The company is also offering their customers an instant access to 24/7 emergency roadside assistance, without having to search for a telephone number.

iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android (News - Alert) device users can get hooked to this new Ryder Locator application by downloading it from iTunes, Android Market, and BlackBerry App World.

In other news, Ryder System, Inc. recently introduced ”RydeSmart 3.0,” the next-generation onboard telematics system.

According to the company, the new RydeSmart 3.0 offers greater usability and vehicle intelligence to fleet management end users and includes inbuilt improved features to make it easy for customers to access and monitor their fleets anytime, anywhere
