Fixed mobile convergence (FMC) has become a term often used over the last three or so years by those in the telecommunications industry. This approach allows you do something much more simple than what the term implies – it lets you use one phone (and one phone number) while moving between point A point B and point C (or more).
As captured on this company
page, Thrupoint’s
fixed mobile convergence suite has made significant improvements to the technology. The company plans to feature its offerings in the Mobile World Congress (

Thrupoint, a provider of communications products to the Global 2000 and Carrier marketplace, has a fixed mobile convergence solution that has attracted clients looking for scalable mobility options. Thrupoint delivers on that front by executing a
converged solution for service providers and enterprise customers by allowing subscribers to make and receive calls over a WiFi (

The fixed mobile convergence solution can also be used on the iPhone (

By using Thrupoint’s fixed mobile convergence solution, employees can be reached through their desk phone extension even if they aren’t sitting at their desk. Using the Thrupoint FMC client and the
Thrupoint FMC server (which can be in the cloud or enterprise-based), calls become more cost-effective than ever.
Calls through mobile handsets with the app installed are made over secured binary data links routed over the FMC or
cellular networks through SIP networks utilizing the enterprise call routine. Through this method, international and long-distance calls become incredibly cheap too, as callers won’t be charged what the carrier rates.
Thrupoint’s FMC server works with a management server for quick and easy administration. It monitors network connections with clients and can identify the optimal network connections for each and every call. The reliability of calls and the quality of the call is managed through automatic roam decisions built into the Thrupoint solution.
Thrupoint’s solution allows clients to combine corporate voice and messaging applications on one smartphone, enabling employees to be in constant contact regardless of time or location. It’s this kind of approach to technology that has Thrupoint winning awards by allowing companies to increase sales.
