SOASTA Debuts CloudTest Platform

The new CloudTest platform from SOASTA (News - Alert) is capable of delivering the first ever complete functional test automation for continuous, multi-touch, gesture-based mobile applications. The platform is designed to offer precision testing to iOS and Android (News - Alert) apps.

SOASTA explained that its CloudTest platform offers a comprehensive set of components and access options that enable teams of any size to execute frequent, scalable and affordable functional and performance tests from inside the lab through to live production. The single integrated platform for functional and performance testing is for validating modern web and mobile apps. It features a visual test creation environment that lets users to quickly create and edit complex tests.

SOASTA’s TouchTest technology is purported as the foundation of the newly released testing platform. All the components in the CloudTest architecture are services-based and can be installed on a single server or different physical or cloud servers to maximize scale and performance.

The CloudTest platform includes: core testing services – for building, running, viewing and discovering issues while testing; test cloud management – for deploying and configuring cloud or internal hardware; real-time analytics; and the global test cloud – lets integrated access to all major public cloud platforms.

The company added that TouchTest technology will be offered as a feature enhancement for use by mobile developers and testers that are using CloudTest and CloudTest Lite, with the first testing device free of charge.

Officials commented that they are extremely proud to introduce to the mobile app market the same level of revolutionary test innovation that they delivered to cloud testing in 2008. The way that users interact with data and apps is rapidly changing.

Multi-touch, gesture-based applications are adding voice interfaces, and 'big data' applications such as logistics, distribution, and media will soon have 3D navigation and hovering browser UIs. The 'Minority Report' user interface has arrived, and with it they must have a new test platform to validate the highest quality user experience. TouchTest and their new CloudTest Private Device Cloud will change the game for mobile developers and testers forever.
