Adva Soft Launches First Photo Uncropping App, AntiCrop 1.0
January 20, 2012

AntiCrop 1.0, which allows you to uncrop a photo on a mobile device, has been developed and launched by Adva Soft. AntiCrop 1.0 allows a simple drag of photos on the hand held devices to expand the picture. It is said to be the only existing app offering the capability of uncropping photos on iPhone or iPad.

An advanced content filling algorithm inside the app will add pixels to the expanded area of the photo. To use AntiCrop, users can take a snapshot or select a photo from the gallery. They just need to drag or tap their finger on the screen to expand the borders of the image in any direction. The unique algorithm of AntiCrop identifies the elements on the outer borders of the photo, replicates them and adds border strips to the enlarged photo. The linkage with the new border is not visible and the quality of the photo is maintained.

In a release, Maksym Davydov, the President of Adva Soft, said, “We highly recommend the app for all kinds of backgrounds and homogeneous textures, it works great for those. People will also be really happy with the results when they are working with nature landscapes, backgrounds, portrait photos and so on, too. AntiCrop really is something that people haven’t seen before.”

AntiCrop allows users to uncrop photos in any direction. Its lossless photo straightening system will retain the original image resolution and thus the quality of the image intact. It has been optimized for multi-core processors. All the features come for a price of $0.99 and it is available through the App store under the Photography category.

According to Adva Soft, results can be accomplished when working with natural landscape and backgrounds. However, AntiCrop cannot be used to complete unpredictable picture areas like human face or since the application is not designed for these kinds of tasks.
