Cherple Reveals Mobile Technology Patent and Expansion Plans
January 13, 2012

Cherple has announced the issuance of a patent for a technology method that allows easy delivery of web based content to wireless devices.

U.S. Patent 8073895, named “System and Method for Delivering Web Content to a Mobile Device,” allows for the delivery of any web-based electronic content – such as pictures, video clips, apps, music, documents, files and other rich media – to any cellular mobile device. Three other mobile patent applications are pending, all of which have significant market value, in addition to this recent patent, the company stated in a press release.

“With cellular devices numbering in the billions worldwide and trillions of text and multimedia messages being sent through wireless networks annually, this patent could greatly affect the way social media and advertisers reach out to cellular users,” explained CEO and President Robert Sanchez at a press conference at the 2012 International CES (News - Alert).

According to Sanchez, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Google, Microsoft and hundreds of other Internet-based companies all potentially infringe on this patent hundreds of millions of times every day.

Last November, localized versions of Cherple's Web-based SMS chat application, known as Cherple Passport, were introduced for use in Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines and India; localized expansion into China, Korea and Vietnam is slated for the first quarter of 2012.

Cherple is actively seeking international business partners to facilitate its global growth and expanding solutions. Having approximately 25 million active Cherple users in more than 160 countries, the company had raised more than $10 million in private funding in recent months.

In other news, in a bid to expand its international business, United States-based Globaltel Media is opening shop in Mexico. Soon the company will introduce its service with the launch of a localized version of its popular service in Spanish. The site, Cherple.mx, is now available allowing native Spanish speakers to have two-way text chats to any Web-enabled computer.
