China's Guohe Ad and Starbucks Form Partnership to Offer an Innovative Mobile Ad Campaign

Guohe Ad is one of China’s leading mobile ad management platforms. The company recently confirmed that it is now working with Starbucks to strategically place highly functional HTML5 ads in three premium mobile apps. The idea behind this campaign is to create awareness for a massive Starbucks Christmas promotion.

Starbucks, during the month of December, has been providing its customers with a bigger size of drink when they do a social check-in at any of the over 200 Starbucks stores which are located in Shanghai, Jiansu and Zhejing provinces. Guohe chose the social app Weico, the magazine app Business Value and the utility app Days Matter to create awareness for the promotion. All three of these apps were chosen as they were found to be the most appealing apps to high quality Starbucks customers, who by default are young office workers.

In a release, Lu Huang, marketing director of President Starbucks Coffee Shanghai said that, “It is the first time for Starbucks to tap mobile advertising in China and it is really an impressive campaign. The ad targeting and integration of social media efficiently helped Starbucks to convert mobile users into our real customers, it also enabled Starbucks to celebrate Christmas with customers in the online and offline world, and communicate the idea of Starbucks fourth place experiences.”

Among these three apps, Weico has been determined to be the most influential as it is the most popular third party mobile app for Sina Weibo. The app is the equivalent to Twitter (News - Alert) and currently has over three million registered users and 500,000 daily active users.

Neo Zhang, co-founder of Guohe Ad said that, “We are thrilled to team up with Starbucks. Guohe selected a few high quality mobile apps for this ad campaign and the feedback is very encouraging. We will continue to explore how we can better serve both developers and advertisers.”

In other news, Guohe Ad recently announced a partnership with ASC (News - Alert), the mobile app distributor that solely powers the HTC China Marketplace, to introduce a special SDK which integrates premium mobile ad networks for HTC (News - Alert) mobile app developers.

The SDK, which will be released shortly, comes with great product innovations, stable technology support, long-term service upgrade commitment and API support.
