Bangladeshi Mobile Operator Selects Comptel Fulfillment for Provisioning and Activation
December 22, 2011

Bangladeshi mobile operator Robi Axiata Limited has selected Comptel Provisioning and Activation and Comptel Catalog.

Robi Axiata, a joint venture company between Axiata Group Berhad, Malaysia and NTT (News - Alert) DoCoMo Inc, Japan, will replace its existing postpaid, prepaid and VAS provisioning systems with Comptel’s solutions, which will help the operator improve time-to-market and ensure low service-deployment error rates.

Officials with Comptel said that Comptel Provisioning and Activation and Comptel Catalog are components of Comptel Fulfillment, a fully integrated suite of products that also encompasses order management and service and resource inventory capabilities.

“Our requirement was a fully automated provisioning solution that was capable of handling customer orders to activating services in the network all the way up to the start of billing,” said A.K.M. Morshed, chief technology officer at Robi Axiata, in a statement.

Morshed said that Comptel Provisioning and Activation will help the company to control costs, reduce manual errors and deliver services to customers without delay, thus increasing satisfaction and reducing churn.

“We are very happy that Robi Axiata has selected our fulfillment solution for its provisioning needs,” said Mika Korpinen, senior vice president of Asia-Pacific at Comptel.

Korpinen said that provisioning is one of the company’s core competencies, with a solid track record of deliveries to over 130 operators across the world.

“We feel that this is once again a proof-point of our leadership in that space,” he said.

Back in November, Comptel Corporation had announced that Telenor (News - Alert) Hungary, a member of the international Telenor Group, had selected Comptel Provisioning and Activation. Telenor Hungary wanted to replace its existing provider’s system with a competitive, future-proof, easy-to-configure solution that also provides value for money.

Comptel Provisioning and Activation offered the integration flexibility the operator required to support its move to an LTE (News - Alert)-ready network. The solution achieved an attractive position in ranking among several other suppliers participating in the evaluation process.
