Motorola Solutions Introduces MC2100 Mobile Computing Series
December 15, 2011

Not every location and condition is suitable for an elaborate personal computing system. At times, enterprises need to have small-sized and rugged computers that can fulfill their computing needs in a simple manner, without utilizing a lot of space. That’s where the mobile computers come to our help. Aimed at offering small, yet streamlined solutions with integrated hardware and software, these devices can be of great help for companies of all sizes.

Motorola Solutions, Inc., a provider of advanced communication solutions and services for enterprise and government customers, has announced the launch its new MC2100 industrial mobile computing series of small sized rugged mobile computers. The devices will prove to be equally beneficial to both large enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses.

Introduced with five different configurations, the MC2100 series is equipped with three different scan engines and allows the enterprises to establish connectivity in both batch and WLAN mode. It will be especially useful for inventory management, stock replenishment, price marking, and shelf labeling due to its less weight and enhanced ergonomic design.

Being provided under Motorola’s ‘Service from the Start with Comprehensive Coverage’ program, MC2100 mobile computer will be covered for usual disorders as well as accidental damage to internal and external components, saving the users considerable amount of repair costs in case of potential damage. Motorola aims at shipping its MC2100 mobile computing series during the first quarter of the year 2012.

“With the MC2100 mobile computing series, Motorola Solutions is leveraging its core mobile computing fundamentals and technology leadership to ensure value-tier and price-conscious customers will not have to compromise on ergonomics or functionality,” commented Girish Rishi, corporate vice president and general manager of mobile computing, Motorola Solutions. “The MC2100 will help improve operational efficiencies for our traditional enterprise customers and open up new market segments around the world from small- to medium-sized businesses.”

Recently, Motorola Solutions, Inc. announced that it has been awarded a contract for integration of Atlanta’s disparate public and private surveillance camera systems into one common operational environment in the Video Integration Center or ‘VIC.’ A comprehensive solution for the city will be provided by a team headed by Motorola’s Global Services organization.
