Amazon has announced that the company’s Price Check app helps shoppers to make sure that they get the best deals on their holiday shopping.
Price Check app users can “price check” using four input methods, including scanning a barcode, where Amazon's barcode scanner will match an item and provide pricing from Amazon.com (News
- Alert) and other online merchants in seconds. It also snaps a photo and instantly matches the picture to books, DVDs, CDs, video games and more. It then speaks the name of a product and allows you to type the product name to instantly find products and price.
“The ability to check prices on your mobile phone when you're in a physical retail store is changing the way people shop,” said Sam Hall, director of Amazon Mobile. “Price transparency means that you can save money on the products you want and that's a great thing for customers. Price Check in-store deals are another incentive to shop smart this holiday season. We scour online and in-store advertisements from other retailers, every day, year-round.”
With the ability to be downloaded for free from the Amazon Appstore, Android (News - Alert) Market and App Store for iPhone, the Price Check by Amazon app is available for iPhone and Android. Price Check app users will need the latest version of the Price Check app on their iPhone (News - Alert) or Android mobile phone, in order to participate in the discount, the company stated in a press release.
Recently, Amazon announced the availability of Amazon Santa, a free app for the Kindle Fire and iPad that makes it fun and easy for children and their parents to create holiday Wish Lists to share with friends, family and Mr. Claus.
The Amazon Santa app provides a visual Wish List creation experience designed for children to browse and search more than five-hundred thousand kid-friendly items. With a little help from their parents, kids can make a holiday Wish List to share with loved ones, making it easier than ever for family and friends to give the right gifts this holiday season.
