Bradford Networks (News - Alert), an enabler of secure network access for corporate issued and personal mobile devices, asserted that its mobile agent app that enables secure network access for trusted iPads, iPhones and other Apple (News
- Alert) devices is now available for download in the Apple App Store.
This application was developed using Bradford’s Network Sentry network access control (NAC) solution. It is built with the ability to distinguish between corporate and personal devices and regulate the network access appropriately.
Bradford asserted that its NAC solutions characterize an important first step towards integrating the disparate silos of security in today’s networks by leveraging functions of directories and AAA servers, network infrastructure devices, and endpoint security software in the process of dynamically provisioning network access for each user and endpoint device.
NAC solutions require authentication, endpoint compliance, remediation, and policy enforcement functions in the process of validating user identity and the security posture of host devices before allowing access to the network.
An eMarketer (News - Alert) analysis revealed that by 2014 iPad would cover 68 percentage of overall US tablet market. By using the new Bradford Mobile Agent Apple product, one can access the network securely and also provide IT about the identification of the device on the network.
The app enables IT administrators to streamline the process of on-boarding iOS devices and provisioning network access, automatically register each iOS device via a unique identifier, distinguish between corporate-issued and personal iOS devices and check each device for iOS jail-breaking.
Officials with Bradford remarked that their customers have seen a big increase in the number of Apple devices entering the corporate network. They developed the Mobile App to give IT administrators an effective way to differentiate between corporate and personal devices, and enable secure access for trusted devices.
The app also gives employees the ability to operate their device natively, meaning they no longer have to sacrifice the functionalities of their device to access the network, creating the foundation for a strong BYOD policy.
In other news, Bradford Networks recently announced that it has been named a finalist in the 2012 SC Magazine Awards.
