VoIP Functionality Brought to Apple's iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch by Onebox Mobile App

- Alert) devices. This new version will now enable Onebox customers to make and receive VoIP phone calls via a Wi-Fi connection or a 3G/4G network.
Onebox customers will no longer have to use expensive cell phone minutes or worry about dropped phone calls as they will now be able to stay connected to their business from anywhere in the world, by using the new app.
The new Onebox Mobile App changes the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into a multi-purpose business communications center by equipping it with robust features. Users will be able to make phone calls via a Wi-Fi connection or 3G/4G network using VoIP; have a 24/7 auto attendant to answer and route inbound calls professional; multiple extensions for employees, including intercom functionality; enhanced voice mail service with transcriptions and audio files sent to email or text and advanced call handling features including call screening.
In a release, Mike Pugh, vice president of Marketing for j2 Global said that, “Mobility is more than a convenience, it's a necessity for competing in today's anywhere, anytime business environment. Apple's iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad have been game changers for many of our customers. By bringing Onebox's most powerful features -- like a business phone number and VoIP calling -- to their favorite devices, we're giving our customers an even greater edge in running their businesses on the move.”
The new Onebox app will enable users to reduce their cell phone minutes (and resulting bills) for domestic and international calls; use their iPad as a phone, making and taking calls without a mobile phone or calling plan; make high quality calls from an iPhone via Wi-Fi or a 3G/4G network even in areas with poor or no mobile coverage; give their iPhone a second phone number, which can be a personal number for private calls and a Onebox number for business calls
In other news, eFax, the provider of cloud-based fax services since 1995 and a brand of j2 Global Communications, Inc. recently announced the launch of the eFax app for Android (News - Alert). The internet fax service's mobile capabilities allow business professionals to manage and move important documents anytime, anywhere, keeping productivity on the fast track.
