Looking at the fixed mobile convergence space this past week, TMC’s (News - Alert) Shamila Janakiraman wrote that iBuildApp launched mobile coupons, which now allows businesses to join the mobile marketing trend by offering mobile coupons to their customers. As per Janakiraman’s report, the optimized mobile app supports all major mobile operating systems, including iOS (iPhone (News - Alert)), Android, BlackBerry, Nokia and Windows.

In another report for the fixed mobile community, Janakiraman wrote about Textopoly Inc., a rich media mobile marketing and advertising agency, launching its full rich media mobile site for Yamaha (News - Alert) Watercraft. This report also talked about Textopoly announcing the debut of Republic of Digital, a group inside Textopoly whose goal is to partner with educational institutions to provide mobile strategies and solutions.

While TMCnet contributor Raju Shanbhag wrote that to better understand and serve customers, Sprint’s no-contract or prepaid service, Virgin Mobile (News - Alert) USA selected SAS Analytics. In a statement, said Antoine Georges, the director of Analytics and Campaign Management for the prepaid business unit of Sprint, “SAS Forecast Server helps us project subscriber needs.” “And SAS Enterprise Miner built-in models help us with churn propensity, response modeling and segmentation. SAS has the most flexible tools for tapping into different databases and manipulating big data. No other software delivers the statistical and analytical benefits of SAS,” added Georges.

Contributor Rahul Arora reported that Syntel Inc., a global information technology services and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) firm, entered into a partnership agreement with Pyxis Mobile, provider of the only cross-device mobile application development platform. According to the terms of this partnership, Syntel will leverage Pyxis Mobile platform to ensure greater flexibility, speed and interoperability in its mobile applications for iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, and Android smartphones and tablets, wrote Arora.

Lastly, Rajani Baburajan reported on the partnership between MediaTek , a leading mobile chipset platform provider, and Facebook (News - Alert)  to embed the social media platform into MediaTek's mobile platform solutions.
