BRIEF: US co buys rights to Cellcom app: Abbot Reif Hameiri signed an an international distribution agreement for its content with US content studio Electus Distribution.

Feb 03, 2010 (Globes - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Israel's Abbot Reif Hameiri Production Company Ltd. has signed an international distribution agreement for its content with US content studio Electus Distribution. As part of the deal, Electus Distribution acquired the rights to Abbot's new interactive game show on Facebook, "The Cuckoo's Nest", which it developed jointly with Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL).

Abbot Reif Hameiri's shows include the Israeli versions of "Survivor" and "Beauty and the Geek". The agreement with Abbot is Electus Distribution's first distribution partnership. Electus Distribution will develop Abbot Reif Hameiri's Israeli programming in the US across all platforms, including mobile, Internet and TV. Likewise, Abbot Reif Hameiri may repurpose Electus' multi-platform content to sell to the Israeli marketplace.

Electus CEO Ben Silverman yesterday announced the launch of Electus Distribution, a joint venture with Shine International, the international distribution arm of Elisabeth Murdoch's Shine Group.
