Rod Blagojevich Joins Usher, Drew Carey, Jimmy Kimmel and Valerie Bertinelli in SI.com's 'Celebrity Picks for the Super Bowl'

Chicago, Ill., Feb 03, 2010 (PRNewsChannel.com via COMTEX) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who competes in "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC in March, joins Usher, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli and 40 other celebrities in offering his Super Bowl predictions for SI.com's "Celebrity Picks for the Super Bowl" section.

Blagojevich told the Web site of "Sports Illustrated" magazine that he believes the Indianapolis Colts will win with a score of 38-31.

"The Colts' offense is better than the Saints' offense because they have the most valuable player in football, Peyton Manning," Blagojevich told SI.com. "And the Colts' defense is better and faster than the Saints' defense. The only advantage the Saints have is on special teams, but that's not enough to overcome the advantage the Colts have on both offense and defense." In the online slide show, Blagojevich is number 4 of 43 "celebrities" listed; he's sandwiched between Chris Harrison of "The Bachelor" and Sherri Shepherd, co-host of "The View." Blagojevich's spokesman says Blagojevich was asked which team he thought would win, rather than which team he wanted to win.

"Rod Blagojevich does not consider himself to be a celebrity," says Glenn Selig, founder of the PR firm The Publicity Agency. "But he liked being asked to give Super Bowl predictions. He's a huge sports fan and he knows what he's talking about." Among the others included in the online feature: Drew Carey, host of "The Price is Right," Chris Harrison, host of "The Bachelor," and James Denton, star of "Desperate Housewives."
