A Feud Between Carly and Sam Threatens Their Friendship and Future of Their Web Show in iQuit iCarly, a Prime Time TV Movie Premiering Saturday, Dec. 5, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT)

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov 16, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Say it ain't so! A rift between iCarly BFFs' Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) and Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) puts their friendship to the test and takes its toll on their popular web show in "iQuit iCarly," an original Nickelodeon movie, based on the hit series, premiering Saturday, Dec. 5, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The programming event will kick-off at 5:00 p.m. (ET/PT) with an iCarly marathon - as chosen by the viewers in an online poll - chronicling some of the most hilarious situations the best friends have encountered together.

In "iQuit iCarly," the iCarly gang invites two up-and-coming wacky web comedians, Fleck and Dave, to be guests on their show. When Carly and Sam learn that the guys are entering a web contest for a cash prize, they volunteer to help create an awesome video. Unfortunately, Fleck and Dave have a big blowout which results in Carly and Sam taking sides and putting their own friendship to the test. Their rift makes it increasingly difficult for them to continue doing the web show, leaving Freddie and the rest of their fans to wonder if this is the end of iCarly. Meanwhile, Spencer's obsession to win a boat pays off and he finds himself the owner of a new speedboat. However, without a place to dock his prize, Spencer is left to captain the boat in the parking lot, much to the dismay of one of his neighbors, who plays for his college's baseball team - the Pirates.

To accompany the on-air premiere, Nickelodeon will offer viewers a fun-filled fan experience online at Nick.com. Beginning Nov. 28, fans can cast their votes at Nick.com for their favorite Carly and Sam friendship episodes. The top six episodes chosen will air during the three-hour marathon leading up to the premiere of the "iQuit iCarly" movie on Saturday, Dec. 5. The iCarly show page will feature a sneak peek of the movie, photos and the "iQuit iCarly" game, which launches Nov. 30. An additional game called "Watermelon Pirate Attack!" will be available on iCarly.com, beginning Dec 5, in which Spencer and Gibby must recapture their speedboat from the pirates who hijacked it. Gamers must help the characters launch an attack by using giant chunks of watermelon. A sneak peek of "iQuit iCarly" also will be on Mobile On Demand. The day after its on-air premiere, the movie will be available on various download-to-own stores, including iTunes.

The iCarly movie stars Cosgrove as Carly, McCurdy as Sam, Nathan Kress as Freddie and Jerry Trainor as Spencer. Rounding out the cast is Noah Munck as Gibby, Daven Wilson (Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh) as Fleck and Joey Wagner Luthman (Private Practice) as Dave. "iQuit iCarly" was written by Dan Schneider and directed by Steve Hoefer. iCarly is from creator and executive producer Dan Schneider (Zoey 101, Drake & Josh).

Year-to-date, Nickelodeon's iCarly ranks as television's number-one program with kids 2-11, while the recent iCarly TV movie, "iFight Shelby Marx" (Aug. 8, 8:00 p.m. ET/PT) with guest star Victoria Justice (Victorious, Spectacular!), scored a series best with 8.9 million total viewers.

A show within a show, iCarly follows Carly Shay and her two best friends, Sam and Freddie, as they create a webcast for and about kids their age while grappling with everyday tween problems and adventures. Carly lives with her older brother and guardian Spencer and produces her web show from a makeshift studio in the loft upstairs. Due to Carly and Sam's hilarious banter and great chemistry, iCarly becomes an internet sensation and a pop phenomenon blooms with the weekly webcasts featuring everything from comedy sketches and talent contests to interviews, recipes and problem-solving.
